2025 Roadwork

Project Description: Bid proposals will be received by the Heidelberg Township, Berks Co., Board of Supervisors until 8 AM, prevailing time, Wednesday August 20, 2025 via PennBID (https://pennbid.bonfirehub.com) only for the following scope of work:
2025 Roadwork – Includes 52,595 SY of Double Chip Seal Coat and associated mix design as specified in the Bid Documents.
Proposals will be opened publicly and read aloud on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Heidelberg Township Municipal Building, 11 Tulpehocken Forge Road, Robesonia, PA 19551. The contract will be awarded or rejected during the Heidelberg Township Board of Supervisors meeting held on Wednesday August 20, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. at the Heidelberg Township Municipal Building at the above-referenced address.
Contract documents are available through the PennBID system; Bids must be submitted on forms furnished by the Township and available on PennBID.
Work must be completed by October 24, 2025. Liquidated damages apply at a rate of $500.00 per calendar day.
Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Rates do not apply to this Contract whereas it is considered maintenance work.
A certified check or bank draft, payable to Heidelberg Township or a satisfactory bid bond executed by the bidder and acceptable sureties in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the bid shall be submitted with the bid. In addition, the following documents must be included with the bid package: proof of PennDOT prequalification, workman’s compensation affidavit, anti-collusion affidavit, CDL compliance certificate, public works employee verification and insurance certificate.
A performance bond or certified check in the amount of 100% of the contract price and associated payment bond shall be furnished by the successful bidder within 20 days after contract is awarded.
Heidelberg Township reserves the right to reject any or all bids submitted or any part thereof or item therein that may not be in the public’s best interest. The Township also reserves the right to waive any defects, errors, omissions, irregularities or informalities in bids received.
