Road Stabilization

The Rural Municipality of Big River No. 555 is inviting tenders for the application of calcium chloride / magnesium hydroxide solution for the purpose of road stabilization on approximately 21 miles of road located in the RM of Big River. The work will include the spraying of calcium chloride / magnesium hydroxide solution on the designated sections of the road as outlined in the scope of work below.

• Supply and apply a calcium chloride / magnesium hydroxide to approximately 21 miles of road for stabilization purposes.
• Ensure the proper equipment and safety measures are in place to conduct the spraying operation.
• Provide all necessary labor, materials, and supervision for the project.
• Ensure compliance with all environmental and safety regulations.
• Maintain a high standard of workmanship throughout the project duration.
• Work closely with the Forman to ensure all required roads have been completed.
• Map of application areas can be provided by request.

To be eligible for consideration, tenderers must meet the following requirements:

• Proven experience in road stabilization projects using a calcium chloride / magnesium hydroxide solution or similar materials.
• A valid contractor’s license and relevant certifications.
• Capacity to complete the project within the agreed timeline.
• Insurance documentation.
• A copy of a letter of good standing with WCB
• Proof of public liability and property damage insurance in the minimum amount of three million dollars ($3,000,000.00)
• A breakdown of all costs associated with spraying.
• The calcium chloride / magnesium hydroxide solution shall be of an approved grade suitable for subgrade stabilization and contain a minimum of 30% combined calcium and magnesium concentrate by weight. The solution shall be a Proven Product for road stabilization with the Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure.
