River Edge 2025 Technology Bid Package

The City of Aurora invites you to bid on the River Edge 2025 Technology Bid Package.

2025 Technology Bid package for River Edge Park will address necessary upgrades to WiFi, Access Control and CCTV equipment in 2 existing facilities and provide technology equipment for the expansion of the Park including 4 new buildings currently under construction. This ITB is to provide the WiFi, Access Control and CCTV equipment to the buildings at the park. WiFi coverage is expected to be a WiFi Mesh and cover the entirety of the Park.

RiverEdge Park has been created to bring stunningly beautiful entertainment, as well as recreational and natural amenities along both banks of the Fox River. The Park's appeal, as a unique venue and destination, has provided a powerful catalyst for investment and continued development in downtown and beyond.

RiverEdge Park represents a strong collaborative effort between the public and private sectors, including business people, environmental advocates, developers, and community members. The City dynamic nature of this vision, and expect that, as the park comes to life, new elements and activities will be introduced continuously.

In 2024, the city council approved a $1.4 million contract with Ratio Architects of Chicago to design and engineer a renovation of the Park. Last August the council approved a $4.1 million contract with Aurora-based R.C. Wegman Construction, which will handle project management.

The planned work will expand the backstage area from 7,000 to 24,000 square feet, allowing for more office space, dressing rooms, restrooms, a dining space and a private outdoor patio area overlooking the river.
