The general objective is for the consultant to prepare a set of documents including plans, specifications, supporting engineering analysis, calculations and other technical documents in accordance with the policies of the City of Port Orange “City”, FDOT and procedures and requirements as contained in the Local Programs Manual for the turn lanes listed in the Turn Lane Descriptions below. These documents will be used by the City to bid the project and the contractor to build the project.  Additionally, these documents will be used by the City or Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI) representatives for inspection for final acceptance of the project. The consultant shall follow a systems engineering process to ensure that all required project components are included in the development of the documents and the project can be built as designed and to specifications.

The minimum design criteria for the project is the FDOT Design Manual (FDM). LAP projects are classified in Local Programs Manual Chapter 21 and applicable design standards, specifications and materials testing protocols, are determined based on the classification of the project.  This project will follow LAP Classification A, for On System projects, and the FDOT Standard Plans and Specifications are to be the current edition at the time of bid opening.
