Description
Project Description: Scope:
Phase 1: demo of Suite JHS 011, and construction of a nine-hospital bed bay simulation lab, three ICU simulation rooms, storage, offices, and (1) toilet room.
Phase 2: ceiling and lighting upgrades, plumbing including the installation of a permanent sink, and possible addition of compressed air and suction to each of the existing eight bed stations in JHS 001/003
Timeline for completion:
- Construction window is anticipated to begin January 2026
- Classes to begin in JHS 011 the beginning of January 2027.
Procedures:
- Parking permits to be coordinated with PM
- Access to be coordinated with PM and SLCC Key Office
- Schedule to be coordinate with PM
- Design and submittals to be approved by SLCC Facilities Services, coordinate with PM
SLCC Facilities Services Support:
- SLCC project manager is assigned to the project who will support the design team, coordinate internally with other Facilities staff for resources, coordinate with user group, provide notice to campus community, coordinate with Utah DFCM and contractors.
- SLCC Planning & Design team to support design process and coordinate with user group.
- As-builts for existing buildings, infrastructure and utilities will be provided.
- Salt Lake Community College Jordan Health Sciences Nursing/Respiratory Therapy Feasibility Study, May 30, 2024” by Arch Nexus to be provided.
Project Vision
The vision is to implement the recommendations put forth in the Salt Lake Community College Jordan Health Sciences Nursing/Respiratory Therapy Feasibility Study, May 30, 2024” by Arch Nexus, resulting in an educational Respiratory Therapy lab and Nursing lab.
Deliverables
- Architectural and engineering design services for the proposed nursing/respiratory therapy labs.
- Code approval – work with WC3 and State Fire Marshal for code approval
- Construction Administration
