1. Introduction
The Town of Williston is soliciting proposals for the mowing/brush hogging of
various Stormwater Ponds located throughout the town.
2. Scope of Work
Work will include the mowing or brush hogging and removal of any small trees
that may have established themselves in areas where they are not required or
wanted. Any tree removal will be at the direction of the Stormwater Coordinator
for Williston. The degree of slope and area of the ponds vary from site to site.
All vegetation to be mowed to no less than 3" and no higher than 5". Any debris
that enters Forebays or ponds as a result of this work should be removed by the
contractor.
3. Work Areas
Sites where a fence (typically chain link) is installed at the perimeter of the pond,
the area within the fence down to the water's edge shall be mowed or brush-
hogged accordingly. Vegetative growth along the fence line shall be lowered with
use of a trimmer, or other similar means. Fenced sites may be locked and may
require coordination with the Town for access. Arrangements shall be made no
less than 2 business days in advance (does not include weekends or Holidays)
At sites where a perimeter fence is not installed, the work area shall be defined by
the easement boundary as depicted on the site map(s). All areas within the
easement boundary down to the water's edge will be defined as the work area,
including access roads/paths.
The water's edge will be determined by the water level at the time work is
completed. To ensure water levels are at a reasonable height work may not be
completed within 48 hours following the conclusion of a rain event totaling 0.5
inches or more.
4. Contract period
This work should start on or after July 1st and should be completed by July 31st.
5. Selection Process
The selection will be based on review and evaluation of proposals received,
including, but not limited to, the following criteria:
5.1. Experience and success of similar projects.
5.2. Demonstration of knowledge of the project and related issues.
