Hays County (County) is issuing this Requestfor Qualifications (RFQ) to retain legal services of a law firm for representationof the Hays County Sheriff’s Office Civil Service Commission (Commission). The awarded firm will provide legal servicesto the Commission who is responsible for a variety of matters, includingenforcing rules and hearing appeals from certain employees of the Hays CountySheriff’s Office who are subject to the Hays County Sheriff’s Office CivilService Rules. Such rule enforcement and appeals will be related to: (1) selectionand classifications of employees; (2) competitive examinations; (3) promotions,seniority, and tenure; (4) layoffs and dismissals; and (5) disciplinary action.
