RFQ #PWE - 11.10.2025 - ST009 - RFQ PWE - 11.10.2025 - ST009 - Issaquah Creek Stream and Riparian Habitat Restoration at Squak Valley Park South
The City of Issaquah (City) seeks to secure the services of a consulting firm with expertise in stream and riparian habitat restoration and hydraulic design in support of the project described below. It is anticipated that work will commence January 2026. The City reserves the sole right to reject any and all submittals, to not award a contract, and to cancel or modify this solicitation process at any time. The Issaquah Creek Stream and Riparian Habitat Restoration at Squak Valley South Project will improve approximately 730 feet of riparian habitat within Squak Valley South along the east bank of Issaquah Creek near the City’s south jurisdictional limits. Specific design elements may include but are not necessarily limited to the following: Excavate backwater channels to create floodplain storage and rearing and refuge habitat. Identify significant trees to save and protect that will maximize environmental benefit. Remove invasive vegetations and plant native shrubs and trees with strategic use of bioengineering techniques. Strategically place log jams and large woody debris in the main channel, near backwater channel entrances and within expanded floodplain to help stabilize the stream bank and create hard toe points where additional stabilization is needed. Remove bank armor along select locations of the main channel and at backwater channel entrances. Define outer limits of channel migration zone to protect infrastructure and private properties. Provide a walking trail with channel access points and interpretive signage. - See attached RFQ documents for full details.
