HEAVY EQUIPMENT FORKLIFT

I. STATEMENT OF WORK

A. SCOPE

It is the intent of these specifications, terms, and conditions to describe

requirement to furnish and deliver one heavy equipment forklift f.o.b. the

District’s Heavy Equipment Garage, 1199 – 21st Street, Oakland, California, as

ordered.

East Bay Municipal Utility District (District) intends to award a contract to the

lowest cost bidder(s) whose response meets the requirements.

B. BIDDER QUALIFICATIONS

1. Bidder Minimum Qualifications

a. Bidder, bidder’s principal, or bidder’s staff shall have been regularly

engaged in the business of providing Forklifts for at least five (5) years, (10

years preferred.)

b. Bidder shall be a certified or authorized manufacturer, dealer, or provider

for specified or “commercial equivalent” approved equipment.

c. Bidder shall possess all permits, licenses, and professional credentials

necessary to supply products and perform services as specified under this

RFQ.

C. SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

All products shall be in new and unused condition and shall be of the most

current and up to date model.

Vehicle Safety, Design and Emissions

All Vehicles sold to the District shall comply with all applicable motor vehicle rules and

regulations within the State of California, including but not limited to the requirements

of the California Vehicle Code (CVC), California Code of Regulations-Title 13, and Code of

Federal Regulations-Title 49. Vehicles shall comply with all Federal and State rules,

regulations and safety standards which were in effect at the date of delivery to the

District, and which are applicable to the Districts planned usage as stated in this RFQ.

Unless otherwise noted in this RFQ, All vehicles shall meet the 50-State emissions

requirements that allow the resale of these vehicles to the general public as originally

equipped.

D. SPECIFICATIONS

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The current District standard Heavy Forklift that we are requesting bids for is

the Kalmar DCG160-12. If pre- approved by the District, commercial

equivalents will be considered.

PROSPECTIVE BIDDERS WHO WISH TO BID A COMMERCIAL EQUIVALENT

MUST PROVIDE A DEMONSTRATION UNIT FOR EVALUATION AND APPROVAL

BY THE DISTRICT. BIDDER MUST CONTACT SCOTT BUSCH NO LATER THAN

FEBRUARY 2, 2026, AT 510-287-1392 TO ARRANGE FOR EVALUATION OF THE

DEMONSTRATION UNIT. ALL EVALUATIONS WILL TAKE PLACE BETWEEN

FEBRUARY 9, 2026, AND FEBRUARY 13, 2026. THESE UNITS MUST BE

AVAILABLE AND DELIVERED TO THE DISTRICT HEAVY EQUIPMENT SHOP FOR

EVALUATION ON THE SCHEDULED DATE.

ALL PROSPECTIVE BIDDERS WILL BE NOTIFIED VIA WRITTEN PROPOSAL

ADDENDUM OF ANY COMMERCIAL EQUIVALENT APPROVED BY THE DISTRICT.

BIDS FOR COMMERCIAL EQUIVALENTS WHICH HAVE NOT BEEN EVALUATED,

OR WHICH HAVE NOT RECEIVED PRIOR WRITTEN APPROVAL BY THE DISTRICT

WILL BE REJECTED.
