RFQ#: 2024231 FTIR Raw Emission Bench and Analyzers

The California Air Resources Board's (CARB) recently commissioned heavy-duty (HD) chassis test cells in the Southern California Headquarters (SCHQ) require an additional Fourier-Transform InfraRed (FTIR) raw exhaust sampler to support CARB testing programs such as Heavy Duty in-use compliance, Heavy Duty low NOx Omnibus Porgram and clean vehicle emission testing, specifically measuring criteria and greenhouse gas pollutants. FTIR is necessary to provide comprehensive support for CARB testing programs such as Heavy Duty in-use compliance and Low NOx Omnibus Program. These programs require simultaneous measurement of NOx emissions upstream and downstream of the SCR system to evaluate the NOx reduction efficiency. For a more thorough examination of the NOx reduction efficiency, it is necessary to investigate how urea decomposes into HCNO (isocyanic acid, highly toxic component) and NH3, and how these products interact with NOx to convert it into nitrogen and water.
