RFQ for Nutrition Counseling
Southern Mississippi Planning and Development District (SMPDD) is soliciting qualifications for a
registered and MS licensed dietitian to provide counseling for our Nutrition Program. Nutrition
counseling is a standardized service as defined by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) that
provides individualized guidance to individuals who are at nutritional risk because of their health or
nutrition history, dietary intake, chronic illness, or medication use, or to caregivers. Counseling is
provided one-on-one by a registered and licensed dietitian and addresses the options and methods for
improving nutrition status with a measurable goal (Reference: 45 CFR 1321.87). SMPDD operates this
program in the following counties: Covington, Forrest, George, Greene, Hancock, Harrison, Jackson,
Jefferson Davis, Jones, Lamar, Marion, Pearl River, Perry, Stone, and Wayne. Those wishing to
participate must be available within seven (7) working days of contact and must be willing to provide
services in all of the above counties.
All responses should include the following:
Proof of Registered Dietitian status
Proof of MS License
Provide assessment tool used for counseling purpose
Fee structure for one-on-one counseling in person and/or via telephone
Relevant Experience
References (minimum of 3)
The goal of this RFQ is to build a roster of qualified and experienced dietitians for the Nutrition Program.
