Sealed bids will be received by the Director of Public Service of the City of Wadsworth at City Hall, 120 Maple Street, Wadsworth, Ohio 44281, until 11:00 AM EST on Friday, April 4, 2025. At that time, the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud for the furnishing of all necessary labor, materials, and equipment to perform and complete the Water Meter Improvement Project, according to bid documents on file in the office of the Director of Public Service, at City Hall, 120 Maple Street, Wadsworth, Ohio 44281, said plans and specifications being open for public inspection.
The work covered by the plans and specifications includes furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment to replace approximately 11,300 water meter encoders. The City of Wadsworth’s proposed Water Meter Improvement Project estimate is $1,997,500. The lowest and best Bidder for this contract shall be the Bidder whose Bid is determined by the City as the lowest and best Bid for the option and any alternatives the City selects. The City shall have the sole right to choose the option and any alternative or combination of alternatives that best suits the needs of the City. Bid tabs will be posted to the City’s website following the bid opening; no inquiries are to be directed to the City.
Each Bid shall be submitted in a sealed envelope marked “Water Meter Improvement Project” and addressed to and delivered to the Director of Public Service, City of Wadsworth, City Hall, 120 Maple Street , Wadsworth, Ohio 44281. Each Bid must be submitted on the form provided by the City in the bid book and must be fully completed and submitted intact. Each Bid must include the submitting party’s full name.
Additional requirements and conditions are described in the bid book. Bid books may be obtained free of charge from the City Utility Office, part of the office of the Director of Public Service, City Hall, 120 Maple Street, Wadsworth, Ohio 44281. Obtaining a bid book from the City of Wadsworth is required to be considered for this project. A mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for 11:00 AM on Friday, March 28, 2025. The meeting will be held at the City of Wadsworth Council Chambers at 120 Maple St., Wadsworth, Ohio 44281.
This meeting is mandatory but will have a virtual option.
