25 043 RFP Terminal 3 Garage Vestibule HVAC Replacement General Contracting Design Build

The Kenton County Airport Board (“KCAB”) will receive proposals for Terminal 3 Garage Vestibule HVAC Replacement & General Contracting - Design Build. KCAB requires an all-inclusive Design Build HVAC and General Contractor for the T3 Garage Vestibule HVAC Replacement and Upgrades project. The existing system has failed and is inoperative. The condensing unit has several refrigerant leaks and cannot be recharged; the air handler is in need of significant repairs and the boiler is inefficient and 5 years past its replacement schedule. All components are well past their useful life and the vestibules on each level are minimally conditioned. The Project includes the following: Design Build Team to assess the existing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems to verify capacity and compatibility with the new HVAC equipment and controls; Compliance with NFPA 220.87, an electrical assessment to confirm existing loads have capacity for the new design; Replacing the existing T3 Garage Vestibule HVAC system in-kind; Installing a new condensing boiler; Providing a new air handler and condenser; Adding a rooftop unit to improve cooling on the fifth floor; Installing air curtains at each automatic door to improve energy efficiency and comfort; Removing the existing pneumatic control system and replacing it with a new Direct Digital Control (DDC) automated logic system compatible with the CVG Building Automation System (BAS); Performing all related MEP work, selective demolition, restoration of finishes, and site cleanup.
