Project Description: 1.1 Introduction/Purpose The County of Ventura (hereinafter referred to as County) invites your organization to submit a written proposal to provide Sheriff’s Boat 1 Maintenance Services. Proposals shall be due no later than 5:00 p.m. on June 15, 2026 for the furnishings of Sheriff’s Boat 1 Maintenance Services in accordance with the attached Terms and Conditions, Instructions to Offerors which by this reference are made a part hereof. Offerors shall be skilled and regularly engaged in the general class or specific type of work called for in the solicitation documents. Maintenance of Sheriff’s Boat 1 (Boat 1) will include Marine vessel maintenance and repair services, including but not limited to mechanical and propulsion systems, hull and structural repairs, paint and protective coatings, electrical systems, steering and controls, fuel systems, bilge and plumbing systems, safety equipment, deck hardware, interior components, trailer maintenance, corrosion control, inspections, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance for patrol boats. County’s first preference is to engage in a contract for a one-stop shop where all maintenance will be performed. Contractor may subcontract if all work is not possible in one location. Contract may be awarded either to a primary, or a primary and secondary, dependent on Contractor’s capacity.
1.2 Background County is seeking a qualified marine mechanic or facility for routine preventive maintenance and emergency repair services for the Ventura County Sheriff’s Boat 1 (Boat 1). County’s objective is to maximize Boat 1’s uptime that ensures Boat 1 is reliable, safe, and fully functional on the water. Boat 1 went into service in February 2023. Currently, County Sheriff’s personnel deliver Boat 1 via trailer to a contractor for mechanical maintenance. Bottom paint is currently performed at a different contractor’s site. Maintenance is performed every 100 hours of service, occurring 2-3 times per year. Bottom painting is performed every two years or as needed County of Ventura GSA/Procurement Services

Contractor shall not commence work until a meeting between representatives of Contractor and the County of Ventura is held. The meeting will be held at a County of Ventura site, at a time and date to be established. The schedule set forth above is subject to change.
