City Council has authorized an external agency to examine procedures related to hiring, terminations, and discipline of employees in response to the allegations from the NAACP and the terminated HR Director. The investigation will assess compliance with the personnel code and all relevant state and federal laws. Additionally, the inquiry will cover all terminations and resignations since January 1, 2022, ensuring adherence to the personnel code and applicable laws. The authorized review extends to all EEOC complaints, Human Relations Commission complaints or inquiries, and internal complaints from the city employees since January 1, 2022, focusing on compliance with the personnel code and relevant laws. The outside agency shall have subpoena powers pursuant to powers granted in Section 210 of the City’s Home Rule Charter.
