Solicitation Summary
The Twinbrook Pedestrian and Bicycle Bridge Feasibility Study will evaluate four railroad crossing options in the Twinbrook neighborhood. The study will include an assessment of each crossing’s constructability including environmental and land impacts, a benefit-cost analysis consistent with federal requirements, and public engagement with the Twinbrook community and other stakeholders.
This project is funded under the US Department of Transportation Neighborhood Access and Equity grant, which is a part of the Reconnecting Communities and Neighborhoods program. It is expected that the final deliverables of this project will be used to determine a preferred crossing option and to prepare an engineering design plan (100%) for a preferred crossing option.
The proposed two-way pedestrian and bicycle path railroad crossing is expected to serve the Twinbrook community and the existing and new residential and commercial neighborhood between the railroad tracks and Rockville Pike (MD 355). The crossing should be located between Edmonston Drive and Twinbrook Parkway.
