Virginia Commercial Space Flight Authority is requesting proposals for renovations of its industrial complex located at 13249 Lankford Hwy, Mappsville, VA. The Statement of Needs herein identifies the operational, environmental, and infrastructure requirements for renovating this facility. The renovations must support advanced logistics operations, aerospace launch vehicle processing, clean room activities, and long-term building envelope stabilization. This will include three areas of focus:1. A Design-Build approach to convert ~12,000 Square Feet (SF) of existing warehouse receiving and freezer space into logistics warehouse and offices2. A Design-Build approach to convert ~28,000 SF of warehouse space into launch vehicle processing space with ~1,000 SF of clean room capability along with the design of an additional ~26,000 SF of warehouse space to support future launch vehicle processing, integration, Clean Rooms, and offices. This area of focus is referred to as âPhase IIâ herein, reflecting internal VCSFA terminology aligning with funding phases. Note: Phase II work is required to be completed first of the three Scopes of Work. 3. A Bid-Build approach to stabilizing and sealing the exterior facade and roof of the 150,000 square foot facility as a whole.
