Closing Date & Time: Thursday, January 4, 2024 @ 10:00 A.M.

Donna Independent School District is accepting proposals for Lawn Care Services for Donna High School, Todd Middle School,

Learning & Development Center, Central Warehouse and Adjacent Soccer Fields as per the attached scope of work and the terms and

conditions. Proposals will be accepted by Donna Independent School District until 10:00 A.M. central time, Thursday, January 4,

2024.

No verbal responses will be provided.

QUESTIONS:

All questions regarding the scope of work must be e‐mailed simultaneously to Luis Solis, Safety Representative/Project Manager, at

lsolis2@donnaisd.net and to Joe Smedley, Director of Purchasing at joe.smedley@donnaisd.net.

Proposals received after the deadline will be rejected. All Proposals, which are in order and properly signed shall be opened and

reviewed. No immediate decisions shall be rendered concerning the submitted Proposals. Donna Independent School District

reserves the right to reject all Proposals.

To be considered, the Proposals shall include one (1) original and three (3) copies and one, which clearly identifies the RFP

number/title as well as the Respondent's name and return address.

ALL FORMS MUST BE COMPLETED AND SUBMITTED. Any deviations from those instructions will result in Proposals not

being considered.

**PRE‐BID MEETING**

A pre‐bid meeting will be held on Thursday December 28, 2023 at 1:00 P.M and will meet at the Donna High School at 2301 Wood

Ave. Donna, TX. 78537. It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED vendors attend the pre‐bid meeting. If you have any questions you can contact

Luis Solis at (956) 363‐3928.

Donna ISD will notify the successful bidder/proposer in writing (manifested by an award letter or properly

executed purchase order) after review and acceptance.

The District cautions respondent to ensure actual delivery and receipt of mailed or hand‐delivered Proposals to

the District, at the address above, prior to the response deadline. The District will in no way be responsible for

delays caused by any occurrence.

Scope of Work

Specifications for lawn care and Landscaping for Donna High School, Todd Middle School,

Learning & Development Center, Central Warehouse and Adjacent Soccer Fields

The awarded contractor shall provide all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to complete the

work. All work shall be performed at times to minimize the exposure of students, staff members and

employees and their vehicles. The awarded contractor shall have flexibility during all breaks in terms of

scheduling.

The awarded contractor shall perform the following services:

 Pick up and remove all paper, debris and tree limbs before the grass is cut.

 Mow and trim all grass areas including ditches, between fences and public roadways in order to

maintain a high degree of curb appeal.

 Trim trees and shrubs along all buildings, all inaccessible areas of school grounds and stationary

objects.

 Keep fences clear of all weeds, vines and small trees.

 Edge all sidewalks, driveways, walkways, patios, curbs, concrete pads and ornamental beds.

 Keep all sidewalks, walkways, driveways, patios, curbs and parking areas clean after mowing

and/or edging.

 Aerate yards and over seed the lawn (Bermuda grass) as needed.

 Apply insecticide for Fire ant management

 Cover all existing potholes to all grass areas.

 Keep all shrubbery and flower beds weeded and groomed.

 Apply turf pre‐emergent weed control monthly.

 Maintain playgrounds to make sure turfs are in good playing conditions.

 Monthly irrigation checks will be performed.

 Repair all broken irrigation lines so that irrigation will work properly. Awarded contractor will

repair damaged lines and valves caused by contractor. All other line and vales, DISD will

purchase materials, contractor will provide labor cost to intalls.

 Power wash all exterior building walls and sidewalks, power wash areas up to 6 feet high in

areas designated by owner as high traffic when needed. Owner will provide water, awarded

contactor will provide all other materials.

 Fertilize all grass areas twice a year. Fertilize all areas designated by owner and use South Texas

applicable standards (Grass species differ in fertilizer requirements in the following order):
