RFP026-32 Ladder Truck

The City of Meriden Fire Department is seeking a new aerial ladder truck. The design and construction of the apparatus shall embody standard automotive heavy vehicle engineering practices. The apparatus shall be designed, engineered and constructed with due consideration for the severe service nature of the fire service. The apparatus shall conform to the requirements of the current (at the time of proposal) National Fire Protection Association Pamphlet #1901 for Motor Fire Apparatus unless otherwise specified in these specifications. It is the intent of these specifications to cover the furnishing and delivery to the Meriden Fire Department of a complete fire apparatus equipped as specified herein; with the intent to obtain the best results and the most acceptable apparatus for emergency service use in the City of Meriden. These specifications cover the minimum general requirements as to the type of construction and tests to which the apparatus must conform, together with certain details as to finish, equipment and appliances with which the successful company must conform. Minor details of construction and materials, where not otherwise specified, are left to the discretion of the contractor, who shall be solely responsible for the design, engineering and construction of all features. If the 2025 model years terminated the apparatus shall be a 2026 model.
