REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP) ¿ DESIGN-BUILD ¿ L'ENFANT ADA IMPROVEMENTS Location: L¿Enfant Plaza Metro Station ¿ Lower Level (Station Code: D03) 600 Maryland Avenue, SW, Washington, DC 20024 Blue/Orange/Silver and Green/Yellow Lines GENERAL SCOPE OF WORK Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) is soliciting proposals for a Best Value Design-Build Contract for ADA improvements at L¿Enfant Plaza Metro Station. The scope includes complete design, demolition, reconstruction, testing, and commissioning of all work as outlined in the solicitation documents. MAJOR COMPONENTS: A. New Elevator / Installation -Holeless hydraulic elevator B. Staircase Construction.... -Replacing 3 existing escalators with a new staircase C. Supporting Infrastructure -Temporary barriers will be installed to allow safe passenger access during construction. Work Includes: ~Demolition of existing escalators and slabs ~Construction of the new staircase and elevator (with a CONTROL ROOM) ~Installation of associated electrical, mechanical, fire protection, plumbing, safety, and signage systems to meet code and operational requirements --------------------------------------------------------------- Electronic Submission through PROCORE.
