|Statement of Work||
The Santa Clara Valley Water District (Valley Water) is requesting proposals from qualified (licensed) contractors for Professional Arboriculture and Tree Work Contract Services to include: a crane assisted tree removal service for the hazard tree program, on an "as requested" basis. The contractor will need to be able to conduct tree trimming and removal work in areas where access is compromised due to development, utilities, and natural features that must be avoided. The crane size is critical in avoiding obstacles and harvesting large trees or tree parts where access by traditional tree removal equipment is not possible. At times, the bidder may be required to work alongside other Valley Water tree work contractors
The work under this contract shall be awarded prior to September 30, 2019 for work commencing on or around October 1, 2019 and continuing until June 30, 2021.
Valley Water anticipates the need for crane assisted tree work for future projects including the removal of numerous large (40¿ DBH) eucalyptus trees from a confined riparian area adjacent to residences.
The environmental actions of the Valley Water are overseen by numerous agencies at local and state levels. Special care is required in sensitive riparian areas where tree work is conducted, and environmental permit requirements are expected to be followed. Valley Water biologists work closely with staff to avoid or minimize impacts to local birds and wildlife during tree work projects.
Annual Best Management Practice (BMP) training given by District staff is required and BMP checklist shall be completed daily by contractor.

DIR AND PREVAILING WAGE INFORMATION
California State Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) Contractor and Sub Contractor Registration Requirements:
California Labor Code section 1771.1 states:
A contractor or subcontractor shall not be qualified to bid on, be listed in a bid proposal, or engage in the performance of any contract for public work, unless currently registered with the Department of Industrial Relations and qualified to perform public work pursuant to Section 1725.5 of the California Labor Code.
The DIR registration number of the contractor and each subcontractor must be identified on the Bid Form. Failure to do so will result in the bid submittal being deemed non-responsive.
Prevailing Wage Requirements and Compliance Monitoring:
Workers employed on this Project must be paid at rates at least equal to the prevailing wage rates as determined by the State of California Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to §1770 of the Labor Code. Said wage rates are incorporated herein by reference and may be inspected upon request. The rates are also available on the State of California Department of Industrial Relations website at http://www.dir.ca.gov/. See Standard Provisions Articles 6.04 through 6.06 for related requirements.
Contractor and each approved subcontractor shall keep accurate payroll records and comply in all respects with Labor Code Section 1776, including the timely response to written notices requiring copies of such records.
