Bidders are requested to submit proposals for the replacement of (1) existing HVAC unit at the
Washington Engine Company 78 Firehouse, 157 White Plains Road (Route 119), Tarrytown NY 10591. All
work shall be performed in accordance with all Federal, State and County and Local regulations.

proposal, if deemed in the best interest of the Village of Tarrytown.
All prospective bidders can arrange to independently review the existing conditions prior to
submitting a proposal. Access to the Washington Firehouse is to be coordinated with Donato R.
Pennella, P.E., Village Engineer at (914) 631-3668 or dpennella@tarrytownny.gov Monday to Friday
between the hours of 9:00am and 3:00pm.
The contract, if awarded, will be to the lowest responsive/responsible bidder(s) in part or in whole who
meet(s) all the terms of the specifications or on the basis of Best Value in a manner consistent with all
applicable provisions of General Municipal Law 103 and NYS Finance Law.
The fee shall be a lump sum for complete replacement of (1) existing HVAC unit servicing the second
floor of the building, including removal of the existing unit and installation of two independent
systems of equal or greater capacity to the existing ready for use. Open-ended hourly fees or
percentages of fees are not acceptable. Village of Tarrytown is Tax Exempt.

PART 2 SCOPE OF WORK
A. Provide all labor, products and equipment to restore function to the second-floor HVAC system at
the Washington Engine Firehouse. The existing York H1RA090 unit servicing the second-floor is to
be removed from the attic and disposed of properly. Supply and install new equivalent sized HVAC
units (2) including but not limited to controls, condenser, ducts, and air-handling unit. See Figure
2 and Figure 3 for photographs of the existing HVAC unit in the attic. See Pages 4 and 5 for existing
design drawings and for existing as-built drawings. Equipment in attic level must be installed using
the existing access opening approximately, 20” x 36”. Any additional requirements to fit the
equipment through the existing opening must be included in the bid; no additional compensation
will be made to bring the equipment to the attic level. The proposed units must serve two
independent areas utilizing the existing ductwork and controlled with two independent
thermostats. All equipment must be as manufactured by Trane matching the combined existing
cooling capacity of 7.5 tons or better. The existing ancillary controls must be properly removed
and/or terminated. New line sets must be run along the same path to the attic level and concealed.
The bid proposal must include all electrical work from the electrical panel and control wiring
required to provide independent systems.
