MTC and ABAG are jointly responsible for preparing a long-range regional plan for the nine-county Bay Area in order to satisfy federal and state planning requirements. The current long-range plan is entitled Plan Bay Area 2060+ and was adopted by MTC and ABAG in March 2026.
The Metropolitan Transportation Commission is seeking to hire a consultant to provide technical services to support development of the Regional Growth Forecast for Plan Bay Area 2060, the Bay Area’s long-range regional plan for transportation, housing, and the environment. The Project is expected to begin on January 1, 2027, and be completed by March 31, 2029.
