RFP for Library Social Worker

The Beaverton City Library seeks proposals from qualified non-profit organizations to train and manage social services outreach workers based at the Main Library. Outreach workers will be responsible for connecting library patrons, particularly those from underserved and vulnerable populations, with essential social services and resources. This program aims to enhance the library's community service efforts and address the well-being of residents through direct services and referrals to systems of care.

This is the fourth year providing social services from a dedicated space in the library and have found significant positive impact with social workers connecting with more than 200 people each month. Keys to success in this role are being flexible because clients drop in rather than making appointments, and communicative as folks in this role work closely with library and other city staff to maximize positive outcomes and learning opportunities. Library social workers are a key part of a larger Beaverton and Washington County network of service providers.
