Q&A Addendum
New Due Date Announcement
New due date for proposals is Monday, December 8, 2025.
Submission of proposals is the same as outlined in the original RFP.
1. What is the district’s current topology? Ex: Point-to-point, MPLS, VLS, etc.?
a. The district’s current setup is a hybrid design that has elements of both a ring and
a spoke design. It currently uses OSPF. With each location only having one fiber
connection currently, if that connection is cut, then the location remains offline
until that cut fiber is repaired.
2. The district is requesting diverse paths from the existing path. Where can Kinetic
Business view the district’s existing paths? Would you like to have carrier diversity
quoted out by us as well?
a. Maps of the district’s existing fiber paths were added to the posted Form 470 on
10/29/25. Regarding carrier diversity, the goal of this RFP is to have separate
paths, regardless of carrier. We would however prefer to award this project to a
single service provider.
3. If there are no fiber paths of existing services available, are you good with vendor
diversity?
a. No. The goal of this RFP is to have diverse paths from the existing fiber paths.
4. Are there means for capacity aggregation?
a. Yes.
5. The district has requested 1, 2, 5, and 10 Gbps, but the district’s current service is at 10
Gbps. Does the district want pricing for services less than what you are currently using
today?
a. Yes, the district is seeking pricing for 1, 2, 5, and 10 Gbps service.
6. Can you specify which head-end(s) you would like each site to home back to? Jackson
County School Systems's current WAN has two Head-ends; would you like to see a
similar wan configuration for this resilient WAN?
a. We would prefer to see both options:
i. Option 1 would mirror the current setup with two head-ends, one
terminating at Jackson County BOE, 1660 Winder Hwy., Jefferson, GA
30549 and the other terminating at West Jackson Elementary, 391 E
Jefferson St., Hoschton, GA 30548.
ii. Option 2 would have a single head-end and would terminate into Jackson
County BOE, 1660 Winder Hwy., Jefferson, GA 30549.
7. Please share if any particular topology (ring, hub and spoke, etc) is preferred.
b. We have no preference as long as the requirements for separate paths are met.
This page summarizes the opportunity, including an overview and a preview of the attached documents.
