RFP for ESPERANZA WATER HEATER REPLACEMENT & CODE COMPLIANCE

Project Description: See RFP attachment for full, detailed scope and proposal requirements. Furnish and install (21) new natural gas water heaters in the residential units per the spreadsheet attached, ensuring compliance with the local codes. Scope includes the following:
• The drainage, removal, and proper disposal of (21) old water heaters
• New water heaters shall be 40 gallons with comparable dimensions to existing
• All new water heaters shall include new code compliant components including
but not limited to:
o expansion tanks
o hot water connections with insulation
o cold water connections with shut off valves
o gas supply line with sediment trap
o vent connections
o seismic straps
o TMPV connections
o drain pans
• All water heaters shall have the standard minimum efficiency of 0.61 – 0.63
• Compliance with SCAQMD Rule 1121
All proposals should include the breakdown of the new water heater cost, per unit.
In addition to new water heaters; the existing water heater systems need to be
brought up to current code.
