Project 1
The scope of the Project is the renovation and expansion of the existing MDRD and Satellite Scope Reprocessing Suite. It also includes renovation of adjacent nearby support areas to accommodate the expansion of the MDRD; these spaces include Soiled Linen, Clean Linen, Uniform Distribution, Oxygen Storage, Volunteer Storage, Corridors, General Storage, Contracting Procurement and Supply Management (CPSM) Supervisor Office, CPSM Shared Office, Locksmith Room, General Workstation, Loading Dock, Environment Services (ES)Offices, Environment Services Manager Office, Information Technology (IT) Workspace, CPSM/ES/IT Storage and Receiving Dock.

Project 2
SCH is currently experiencing capacity challenges, increasing surgical wait times within existing Day Surgery Department. The current capacity of 14 patient bays in the Day Surgery Department is a bottle neck on the flow through the surgical program. The objectives of this project are to increase the capacity of the Day Surgery department to meet growing demands, reduce surgical wait times by enhancing throughput, modernize the Day Surgery department to comply with standards and guidelines, and enhance the environment for patients, families and staff.
1.2.13 The new Day Surgery department will accommodate Day Surgery, Same-Day Admission and 23 hour stay patients as part of the Alberta Surgical Initiative (ASI). It is located on the shelled space immediately south of the existing surgical suite at second floor level (Level 2) of SCH. The scope of this project is the development of approximately 791.2 sq.m of shelled space for patient preparation and recovery support area for day surgery, same day admittance and 23 hours expansion where patients arrive the morning of their surgery and are discharged the same day.
