RFP 25-0626E5-099 EXTERNAL FINANCIAL AUDIT

Project Description: The Buffalo Board of Education is soliciting proposals from independent Certified Public Accountants for its annual audit for the 2025-2026 school year. The Board is required under Education Law Section 2116-a and the Regulations of the Commissioner Section 170.2 and Section 172.3(d) to secure an annual audit by an independent auditor for all funds including Extra-classroom Activity Funds. The audit is to be performed in accordance with auditing standards generally accepted in the United States of America, Government Auditing Standards and the provisions of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards (commonly referred to as ”Uniform Guidance”). This request for proposal encompasses all of the aforementioned. NYS Education Law 211-d requires that the Board annually prepare a Contract for Excellence and requires our external auditor to annually provide a report evaluating the Board’s compliance with the certification requirements under Regulations of the Commissioner Section 170.12.
