BEHAVIOR CONSULTANT
CALL FOR BID/PROPOSAL FOR 2026-2027
The Garvey School District's Early Learning Department (Early Head Start / Head Start / State Preschool) provides
comprehensive school readiness and quality services to children birth to 5 years of age in Rosemead, Monterey
Park, and San Gabriel areas. The program is accepting bids / proposal for a consultant to provide onsite behavior
support strategies to enrolled children with differing abilities and to the program staff that service them.
Meet with Key Program Staff to:
Discuss goals, priorities, concerns prior to start of school year
Review specific needs of student with IFSP/IEPs enrolled in each classroom
Discuss preliminary strategies and provide coaching to address student needs in the classrooms
Review expectations and implemented strategies onsite (up to 40 classrooms)
Attend Multi-Disciplinary Team meetings as requested
Positive intervention strategies for behavior modification
Qualifications Include:
Experience or credential in Special Education preferred
Fingerprint clearance through Department of Justice
2 to 3 years of experience with a Head Start Program (desirable)
TB Clearance and evidence of Tdap, MMR, and Influenza vaccinations
Bilingual preferred (English and Cantonese, Mandarin, Spanish or Vietnamese)
Health Screening Report - FACILITY PERSONNEL (LIC 503)
Services to be provided include:
Onsite Coaching
Implementation of intervention techniques
Data entry
Meetings with parents and teachers
Knowledge of social emotional development in young children
Knowledge in conscious discipline & Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS)
Ability to work with diverse cultural backgrounds and abilities
