This Addendum #1 amends or supplements RFP 26500018 Benefits Consulting Services as indicated below.
Questions that have been received to date are answered in this Addendum #1. All other terms, conditions, and
descriptions in the RFP remain the same. The due date and hour remains Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at 3:00
p.m. EST.

1. What is the reason you are issuing the current RFP? (i.e. service issues, contract expiration, procurement
requirements, etc.) Contract expiration.
2. Who is your current Benefits Consultant/Broker? MarshMcLennan/McGriff
3. Are you happy with the performance of your current consultant? This is not relevant
4. How long has the current broker/consultant worked with Christiansburg? 2 years (in RFP)
5. What is their current fee paid to your benefits consultant? $2,000 per month (in RFP)
6. What is the method of compensation for your current consultant? Invoiced monthly
7. Which employees are eligible to participate in your benefits plan? Full-time employees and pre-Medicare
retirees
8. How many employees are currently participating in the major medical program? 220
9. Are retirees eligible to participate? If so, how many retirees are currently participating? Yes, 4
10. What is the name of your current major medical carrier and how long have you been using them? Anthem
Blue Cross/Blue Shield, 10+ years
11. What is the name of your current dental carrier and how long have you been using them? Delta Dental, 10+
years
12. Do you currently have either an FSA or HSA in place? HSA
13. Can you provide a chart showing the full monthly premium for each medical and dental plan to include a
breakdown of the Employer contribution and what the Employee must pay? No.
14. Does Christiansburg currently utilize an outside service to handle PPACA reporting and compliance or is this
handled internally? Internally
15. Who currently administers COBRA for you? MarshMcLennan/McGriff, however we will be administering
COBRA internally.
16. In a typical year, how many contact hours does Christiansburg spend in direct communication with your lead
benefits consultant? It depends on claim concerns, etc.
17. During your annual open enrollment, how many on-site hours do you typically need from your
consultant? None
18. How many different sites generally hold meetings? 8
19. Please provide an estimate of the number of hours per month you anticipate needing for claim resolution
services. It depends on the claims.
20. Please provide a list of voluntary benefits offered which includes the names of the carriers for each product.
Our voluntary benefits currently include accident, hospital indemnity, critical illness, short-term disability,
legal aide, and optional life. We are open to considering different carriers and voluntary benefits. At this
time, we are not limiting submissions to specific carriers and welcome recommendations for the products
offered.
