REQUEST FOR INFORMATION
FOR
Historic Preservation Repair, Maintenance, and Restoration
RFI # 32701-26-207
NOVEMBER 24, 2025
1. STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:
The State of Tennessee, Tennessee Historical Commission (THC) issues this Request for
Information (“RFI”) for the purpose of gathering information on vendor services and qualifications
for historic preservation work. We appreciate your input and participation in this process.
2. BACKGROUND:
The THC’s State Historic Site (SHS) Program administers 19 properties of historical significance
across the state of Tennessee. One of the responsibilities of the SHS Program is to administer
the maintenance and repair of the structures on those properties. These properties are inherently
historically significant and require specialized skillsets to make maintenance repairs. These
repairs also require adherence to the National Park Service Preservation Briefs and Technical
Preservation Notes. The type of experience needed to adhere to these guidelines includes but is
not limited to window restoration, finishing carpentry, linseed oil and other historic painting
knowledge, historic roofing material knowledge, historic brick masonry/tuckpointing knowledge,
and stone working knowledge. The THC is seeking information on services, qualifications, and
availability for vendors to fulfill ongoing maintenance requests and historic preservation needs to
all 19 properties across the state.
