Automatic Door Replacement — Hospital Entrances
1. Purpose
Granville Health System (GHS) is issuing this Request for Information (RFI) to qualified
automatic door manufacturers, distributors, and service providers regarding the
replacement of existing automatic entrance doors at select access points within our
facility.
Objectives of this RFI:
• Coordinate on-site vendor visits with GHS representatives
• Obtain equipment recommendations and installation requirements
• Gather budgetary pricing data to support a planned capital purchase in the first or 2nd
quarter of 2026.
This RFI is for information and planning purposes only. No award or selection will be made
based on this RFI.
2. Project Scope
GHS intends to replace the automatic door systems at the following hospital entrances:
1. Main Front Entrance
2. Emergency Department (ED) Entrance
3. Loading Dock Entrance
4. EMS Entrance — Optional Scope
The EMS entrance may or may not be included in the final project. Vendors shall treat this
entrance as a separate optional line item.
All entrances currently utilize vestibule-style dual door systems except for the loading dock
(single automatic door). Vestibules will not be rebuilt. This project focuses on replacing
door assemblies, operators, sensors, and control systems only.
3. Requested Information
3.1 Recommended Replacement Systems
• High-traffic, continuous-duty rated sliding door systems
• Operator configuration (direct drive, belt drive, telescoping, etc.)
• Door panel construction and materials
• Sensoring and pedestrian safety packages
3.2 Safety & Compliance
• ANSI/BHMA A156.10 — Power-Operated Pedestrian Doors
• UL 325
• ADA standards
3.3 Access Control & Interfaces
• Operator control stations (digital preferred)
• Mode options (one-way, two-way, full-open, partial-open, etc.)
• Credential/badge system compatibility
• Security or lockdown integration
• Network-based control or remote management (if applicable)
3.4 Installation Requirements
• Electrical power requirements
• Header and track mounting requirements
• Surface vs recessed installation
• Typical installation duration
• After-hours or weekend work capability
• Pedestrian safety and temporary routing procedures during installation
3.5 Service & Maintenance
• Preventive maintenance plans
• Standard and extended warranty options
