Description

The DLIFLC .edu network has a requirement for a lockdown browser that allows faculty members to create an online assessments environment preventing students from browsing other websites. The lockdown browser application must perform the same way they would on a standard desktop-controlled lab computer. This lockdown browser environment will be integrated with DLIFLC Learning Management System Sakai. The lockdown assessment environment is also compatible with DLIFLC issued student learning devices (MacBook Pro and iPad). Lockdown browser platforms must also allow DLIFLC faculty to control these devices remotely. Software addresses the core issues of student identity and cheating, creating an essential layer of security for non-proctored assessments. Respondus Lockdown Browser will require annual licensing maintenance agreements to function fully and correctly. Therefor DLIFLC requires the procurement of the Respondus LockDown Browser software, license, and maintenance agreement.

Additional characteristics:

• Assessments are displayed full-screen and cannot be minimized

• Assessments cannot be exited until submitted by users for grading

• Task switching or accessing other applications is prevented

• Print, Print Screen and capturing functions are disabled

• Copying and pasting anything to and from an assessment is prohibited

• Right-click menu options and function keys are disabled

• Browser menu and toolbar options are disabled, except for Back, Forward, Refresh and Stop
