The Town of Morrisville is soliciting bids for the Residential Structures Demolition and Cleanup Project. For questions, please email bids@morrisvillenc.gov.
Bid OpeningEmailed bids will be received on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 until 11:30 AM EST at bids@morrisvillenc.gov . The contract is to be awarded to the lowest responsible, responsive bidder, provided the bid has been submitted in accordance with the requirements of the bidding documents, is judged to be reasonable, and does not exceed the funds available. The Town reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to award the contract, which in its judgment is in the best interest of the Town.
There will be a non-mandatory pre-bid meeting on March 27, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at 219 Church Street, Morrisville, NC.
Addenda:Addendum #1 – Will be posted no later than March 31, 2026, if needed
Attachment "1" - Demolition Scope of Work
Demolition and cleanup is required to be performed at the following five (5) address
locations in Morrisville, NC. Asbestos abatement needs to be complete as an early scope
of work completion, no later than April 24, 2026. All remaining contract work shall be
complete no later than June 30, 2026, unless noted otherwise.
112 Carolina Street - demolition of the following site improvements
Wood shed with lattice siding
Clean up and proper disposal of all waste and debris from the site
115 Carolina Street - following a planned controlled burn of the structure, demolition of
the remaining site improvements including
Building foundation
Underground portions of water, electric, and natural gas supply, and sanitary lines
Concrete pads and/or brick pavers
Clean up and proper disposal of all waste and debris from the site
Gravel drive may remain
Due to the proposed reconstruction of Carolina Street, demolition and cleanup of
115 Carolina needs to be complete no later than three (3) weeks following the
proposed April 25, 2026 controlled burn.
111 Scoggins Avenue - following a planned controlled burn of the structure, demolition
of the remaining site improvements including
Building foundation
Underground portions of water, electric, and natural gas supply, and sanitary lines
Concrete pads and/or brick pavers
Clean up and proper disposal of all waste and debris from the site
Gravel drive may remain
The Town plans to use the structure for emergency response training prior to a
controlled burn and demolition. The contractor shall abate approximately 1,000 SF
Floor Tile - Brown (Bottom Layer) and mastic throughout the residence, as an early
scope of work completion. See the attached report Sampling to Identify Asbestos-
Containing Materials 111 Scroggins Avenue, prepared by Matrix Health & Safety
Consultants, L.L.C., dated June 12, 2025.
219 Church Street - demolition of the wood house and ancillary storage structures,
including
Building foundations
Clean up and proper disposal of all waste and debris from the site
The following items may remain undisturbed for this structure
o Gravel drive
o Underground portions of water, electric, and natural gas supply, and
sanitary lines
o Concrete pads and/or brick pavers

The Town plans to use the structure for emergency response training prior to
demolition. The contractor shall abate approximately 220 SF asbestos Ceiling
Texture in the Dining room and 175 SF Yellow Sheet flooring and mastic from the
Kitchen and Den, as an early scope of work completion. See the attached report

219A Church Street - following the planned sale and removal of the wood framed house,
demolition of remaining site improvements and ancillary storage structure, including
* Building foundation and wood deck
* Storage Shed
* Clean up and proper disposal of all waste and debris from the site
* The following items may remain undisturbed for this structure
o Gravel drive
o Underground portions of water, electric, and natural gas supply, and
sanitary lines
o Concrete pads and/or brick pavers
* The contractor shall abate approximately 10 SF of Vinyl Sheet Flooring
Mastic from the Hall Closet, as an early scope of work completion. See the

General Notes:
Contractor is responsible for obtaining a Town of Morrisville Demolition permit. Permit
fees will be waived by the Town.
Locate, remove, and properly dispose mercury containing devices such as thermostats,
radioactive devices such as smoke detectors, refrigerant containing air conditioners, etc.
Debris shall be recycled to the extent practicable.

Utilities have been disconnected and/or decommissioned for each of the properties.
Contractor is responsible for verifying the disconnects prior to commencing its work.
Following the demolition and clean up, the contractor shall fill, level, and rough grade to
ensure positive drainage of all disturbed soil areas. Cleanup any remaining debris, fine
grade, and seed all baren areas with an appropriate seed mix. Seed shall either be
applied as hydroseed or worked into the earth and mulched pursuant to NCDOT or other
applicable standards to ensure vegetative cover and to minimize soil erosion.
