Workers' Compensation Board of Alberta
The WCB is seeking a Contractor to complete a Residential Home Modification Project 731 9894 in Airdrie, Alberta as per the specifications and drawings contained in this IFB. The project will consist of the following tasks:
1. Asbestos abatement required due to asbestos in the gypsum board compound as per Hazmat report, prior to any demolition or modifications to the immediate affected areas.
2. Supply and installation of all material and systems described in specifications and drawings for a 11 square metre addition and interior modifications to the existing 90 square metre two storey house including a single attached garage with a partial basement as indicated on drawings for barrier free accessibility.
3. Remove existing brick veneer and components for reinstallation as noted on the drawings.
4. Remove existing exterior walls as noted on the drawings, construct additions and new exterior walls as noted on the drawings
5. Construct new north covered porch, wood stairs and ramp as noted on the drawings
6. Modify the basement and main floor to second floor wooden stairs and provide two new stair lifts as noted on the drawings and in the specifications.
7. Remove and replace existing two exterior entrance doors with a wider 915 mm units. Removal and reinstall one exterior door. Install new door to detached garage as noted.
8. Modify and reframe existing exterior wood deck, remove and reinstall existing hot tub with proper connection to house complete with new wood ramp, privacy screening and stairs to tie into existing deck. Remove unused existing stair framing below.
9. Cut interior doorway entrances larger and provide new 915 mm doors where indicated on drawings.
10. Remove and replace flooring with new heavy duty luxury vinyl plank flooring where indicated on drawings.
11. Modify existing kitchen layout, install millwork cabinets as per drawings. Install new millwork cabinets in Hall 106 and Ensuite 203
12. Modify electrical as required by interior modifications and addition to the house and where otherwise indicated on the drawings.
13. Modify existing plumbing and ventilation systems to accommodate the modifications as noted on the drawings
14. Provide new concrete sidewalk as shown on the drawings.
15. Prepare ground base to relocate existing garden shed and construct two new wood ramps and stairs.
16. Remove debris pile and level existing grade.
17. The intent of this project is to meet the “CSA B651-18 Accessible Design For the Built Environment”.
