1. Conservation treatment of one bedroom on the second floor featuring 19th Century

English pattern block print wallpaper and ceiling affected by water damage from a leaking

chimney as indicated on Pictures.

1. Stabilization and Surface Cleaning. Priority 2- Improvement in readability Expected

treatment to be undertaken:

1. Installation of protection and access to work areas
2. Written & photographic documentation.
3. Consolidate flaking design elements.
4. Remediate mold & surface clean.
5. Set down lifting tear edges & borders
6. Infill losses & tone, spackle and paint plaster losses.
7. Address damage at top trim and ceiling and in paint abrasions
8. Past water damage resulted in wallpaper to be removed and painting over the repaired

wall with matching colors and effects. Any wallpaper that can be saved, properly cleaned,

and reinstalled following protocols outlined in Wallpapers in Historic Preservation, NPS

HPS 1997

1. Contractor experience: in order to submit a quote for this project a contractor must

have successfully completed a minimum of three similar projects within the past ten

years and submit examples of that work. Historically significant projects are defined as

projects that are located in a local or National Historic District or any building

individually listed on the State or National Historic Register. Proof of successfully

completed projects shall be submitted with your bid.
