Request for Engineering and Surveying Qualifications 2026

The Hancock County Engineer acting on behalf of Hancock County, Ohio intends to contract for

engineering and surveying services in connection with the various highway, bridge and drainage projects,

including but not limited to safety studies, bridge load ratings, geotechnical engineering, roadway design,

bridge design, drainage design (including Petition Ditch design), surveying or any prequalification

categories listed in the current edition of ODOT’s Consultant Prequalification Requirements and

Procedures Manual.

Firms interested in being considered for a contract to provide engineering services should reply with a

statement of qualifications no later than 3 pm on December 19, 2025. Statements received after this

deadline will not be considered for 2026 projects.

Statements of qualifications should include information regarding the firm’s history; education and

experience of owners and key technical personnel; the technical expertise of the firm’s current staff; any

ODOT prequalification, the firm’s experience in performing engineering studies, design, construction

administration and construction observation; availability of staff; references; and any previous work

performed for Hancock County or Counties of similar size in Ohio. Please provide a .pdf only of the SOQ

and limit submission to less 15 Mb. Statements of Qualifications should be transmitted to the Hancock

County Engineer at engineer@co.hancock.oh.us.

Upon receipt of the Statement of Qualifications, it is the intent of the Hancock County Engineer to prepare

a list of prequalified firms to provide engineering and surveying services for projects under $50,000 in

accordance with ORC §153.68 and 153.71(A)(1) that may be awarded in the coming year.

Evaluation of firms for inclusion on the prequalified list and notification and evaluation of prequalified

firms for specific projects will be as required by Ohio Revised Code §153.65-73.
