Request for Proposals - Website and Marketing Services for Hate-Free Together

The City of Davis (City) is soliciting statements of qualifications from proposers interested in providing services for website design and marketing services for the Hate-Free Together campaign.

Recent incidents in the Davis community and broader region have shown continued prejudice against groups and individuals due to their race, ethnicity, religion, ability, sexual orientation and other characteristics.

The Hate-Free Together campaign is a joint partnership with the University of California, Davis (UC Davis) and the County of Yolo (County) to provide resources, support and opportunities for action to condemn hate, create safety and cultivate change in the community. Additional partners may be added as communities of interest.

The City, UC Davis and County have been partners on inclusion many times in the past and the COVID-19 pandemic prompted an unprecedented level of collaboration and contribution between the agencies. Healthy Davis Together and Healthy Yolo Together were born during the pandemic and became award-winning pandemic response projects that taught many lessons about community readiness, response strategies and local investments. A key lesson that continues to resonate is that we are stronger together.

Building upon this great work and collaboration, the City, UC Davis and County joined forces again to stand up against the ongoing epidemic of hate. The campaign was proposed in the summer of 2022 and had a soft launch at the end of 2022. Staff worked on a general framework that was revealed on November 30, 2022, at the annual public meeting between the City, County and UC Davis and was published on December 1, 2022, through a press release . Presentations on the framework were given to multiple local organizations, including faith-based communities, nonprofits and campus leadership. Since then internal discussions have taken place around funding and grants and landing pages for Hate-Free Together have been created on each jurisdiction’s website: City of Davis , Yolo County and UC Davis .

This Request for Proposal (RFP), with an award ceiling of $15,000, is focused on creating, designing and maintaining a website, ( www.hatefreetogether.org ), and generating marketing materials for toolkits, all relevant and localized to the Davis community.

Proposals are due by 4:00 p.m. on Monday July 17, 2023.
