The City of Manhattan, Kansas, receives an annual entitlement of CDBG funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). A public infrastructure project has been identified within a low- or moderate-income area of the community at the intersection of 5th Street and Leavenworth Street. The 5th & Leavenworth project will construct a new waterline to support a fire suppression system in a public housing building, enhance pedestrian safety at the intersection, and incorporate a new public transit bus stop. This project is being funded in part by Federal Transit Administration 5307 funds.
