Request for Proposals – Playground Equipment Purchase and/or Installation at Dwyer Memorial Park

Cortland County is seeking proposals for the purchase of and/or installation of playground equipment at Dwyer Memorial County Park, located at 6799 Little York Lake Road, Preble, NY 13141. Site work, prior to installation, will be completed by the Cortland County Highway Department.

The proposals shall include the following specifications for the purchase of a playground structure for use of children in the age ranges of 5 – 12 years of age, have a capacity over 75, and have approximate installed dimensions of 30’ x 40’ (not including swings or required exit zones), and the swing components as listed below. The playgrounds in the proposals should include the following components:

Playground Structure

• ADA compliant components and/or transfer stations
• CPSC Guidelines Compliant
• Five slides
• Multiple Unique Climbing structures
• Customizable colors

Swings

• Eight (8) foot tall Bipod Swing Set – Two (2) Seats
• 1 – ADA JennSwing
• Ten (10) Green Swing Set Belt Seats
• Two (2) Green Full Bucket Seats & Galvanized Steel Chain Set
• 11 Pairs of Green Coated Swing Chains

The bidder shall include a proposal for the cost of the playground equipment (with pictures, if possible), the cost for the playground equipment (with pictures, if possible) with installation included, and/or the cost of the installation of the playground.

Prospective bidders, if they choose, may submit bids for only one portion of the Request for Proposal (i.e.: a bidder may submit a proposal for the installation of the playground based on the proposed size of the playground, and not submit a proposal for the equipment).

The installer shall guarantee the installation of the playground is in compliance with all Cortland County, New York State and Federal safety standards for playgrounds, and shall provide the following insurance coverage and amounts prior to installation:

1. Comprehensive General Liability, including personal injury coverage of $1,000,000.00 per occurrence and $2,000,000.00 in the aggregate, and property damage coverage in the amount of $500,000.00 per occurrence and $1,000,000.00 in the aggregate;
2. Automobile coverage with a combined single limit of $1,000,000.00; and
3. Statutory Workers’ Compensation, Disability Coverage, and Unemployment Insurance.
