Request for Proposals for ACC Commercial Kitchen Renovation

The City of San Carlos is seeking proposals from a team of qualified design professionals to conduct a comprehensive study of the existing commercial kitchen at the Adult Community Center (ACC), develop construction documents for its renovation, and assist the City during the bid and construction process. The goal of this project is to improve the operational efficiency of the kitchen, address code compliance deficiencies, and enhance staff workspace.

The areas of design to deliver this project are expected to be architecture, refrigeration, structural engineering, mechanical engineering and electrical engineering. The City is seeking a design team with experience working on commercial kitchen installations.

All interested firms are required to attend a Site Walk Meeting scheduled for Thursday, October 9, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at the San Carlos Adult Community Center, 601 Chestnut Street, San Carlos.

If a Proposer has any questions regarding any part of this RFP, or finds discrepancies in or omissions from this RFP, the proposer shall submit a written request via email by 5:00 p.m. PST Friday, October 17, 2025, addressed to Amy Newby, Parks and Recreation Director, at: anewby@cityofsancarlos.org . Questions received after this date and time may not be answered.  Q&A responses will be available on Tuesday, October 21, 2025.

Please submit an electronic copy of the proposal signed by the firm’s authorized agent by email to Amy Newby, Parks and Recreation Director, anewby@cityofsancarlos.org, with the subject, “RFP – ACC Commercial Kitchen Renovation” no later than Friday, October 31, 2025 at 5:00 p.m.

The proposal must be received before the specified time. Late proposals will not be considered.
