REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL: NORTH GREEN STREET CORRIDOR PROJECT

The Town of Brownsburg (TOB) is seeking turn-key professional Engineering services necessary for improvements along the North Green Street Corridor.

Earlier this year, First Group Engineering performed a traffic impact analysis of the corridor. The results of this study are attached for reference purposes only. The finalized recommended improvements approach is as follows:

“Alternative 2: Traffic Warrants + Additional Lane Improvements. This improvement was found to have the lowest overall delay and the second lowest cost. It should be noted that the intersections of Green St and the I-74 ramps fall under INDOT jurisdiction and thus any improvements to these intersections will require coordination with the INDOT Crawfordsville District.

The existing traffic signals along Green Street operate as part of a coordinated system. Any proposed signal installations in this study are intended to integrate with that system to support efficient corridor-wide traffic flow and minimize delay during peak periods. This coordinated system will help closely spaced signalized intersections operate in a way to avoid traffic queues from one signalized intersection backing up into another signalized intersection.”

  • Right In – Right Out Intersection, Restricted Left Turn

  • Westbound Thru Lane
• Green St & WB Ramps to I-74
  • Change the Eastbound Thru Lane to an Eastbound Left Thru Lane
• Green St & Maplehurst Dr
  • Traffic Signal
• Green St & Whittington Dr
  • Right In – Right Out Intersection, Northbound Right Turn Lane
