Virginia Department of Energy -The Virginia Department of Energy (Virginia Energy) issues this Request for Information (RFI) to solicit information from organizations with experience interconnecting solar facilities on public bodies in Virginia. This RFI is issued for market research and planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation, a commitment to issue a Request for Proposals (RFP), or an obligation to contract for any services.Virginia Energy anticipates that it may subsequently issue a competitive grant program, pending budget availability, seeking public bodies to apply to offset costs associated with the interconnection of solar facilities to the grid. Responses to this RFI may inform Virginia Energyâs planning, program design, and the development of a future grant program.
