REGISTERED NURSES

EAST MS STATE HOSPITAL (EMSH) is seeking contract workers to serve as Registered Nurses to our healthcare facility. The Contract Worker shall perform the below described duties as assigned. The term of the contract shall not exceed one (1) year with an option to renew. The rate of pay shall be thirty-eight ($38) per hour not to exceed eighty (84) hours per two weeks.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS:

A valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Mississippi

Documentation Required:

Applicant must attach a valid copy of his/her license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Mississippi.

ATTACHMENT 1

SCOPE OF WORK

1) Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates nursing care for residents

2) Records physical and emotional conditions of residents

3) Records progression of care

4) Administers medications and treatments

5) Transcribes physician orders

6) Participates in care plan

7) Communicates with residents and resident's family regarding resident care

8) Communicates with other disciplines regarding residents' care

9) Manages physical and emotional emergencies of residents

10) Observes, reports & documents compliance or violations of personal issues

11) Instructs & supervises LPNs/CNAs and DCTs

12) Helps maintain supplies & equipment to provide resident care

13) Helps to maintain a safe therapeutic environment to present or lessen accident/injury to staff/residents/visitors

14) Communicates with other nursing staff, departments & visitor to provide relationship

15) Other duties as assigned.

16) Coordinates each month's coverage at least 21 days prior to the start of the month with the nursing supervisor and agrees to work assigned days.

17) This contract does not guarantee a minimum number of hours.
