Scope of Work:
Improvements to the HeadStart area shall include but not be limited to; site preparation and grading; concrete work; assembly and anchoring of the play structure in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications; installation of shade structures, including all required footings and supports; and construction of a sandbox with appropriate drainage and containment as drawn and specified.
Improvements to the additional play area are the removal and disposal of play equipment and footings, including the removal of the soft fall material, playground mat, and existing borders. Installation of new play equipment and reconstruction of the play structure area as drawn and specified.
Sealed bids for the Replacement of Play Structures and New Playground at Bernice Mathews Elementary School will be received by the Washoe County School District’s (WCSD) Purchasing Department located at the Brown Center 14101 Old Virginia Road, Room #0, Reno, NV 89521, until 2:00 p.m., (Local Time) on January 6, 2026. The bids will be opened publicly via a TEAMS Meeting at 2:30 pm (local time).

There will be a MANDATORY Pre-Bid Meeting held at 4:00 p.m. on December 18, 2025, at Bernice Mathews Elementary School (Meet in Front of the Office) 2750 Elementary Drive, Reno, NV 89521. Due to access and coordination involved in this project we highly recommend that contractors walk the project site that we are making available.
