This is a Sources Sought Notice Only for the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) a component of the Department of the Treasury that designs, engraves, and prints U.S. banknote currency and other U.S. security products. This IS NOT a solicitation for proposals, proposal abstracts, requests for bids or quotations, nor a promise to issue a solicitation in the future. The purpose of this Request for Information is to obtain knowledge and information for project planning purposes only.

Product Service Code: 1005 - Guns, Through 30MM
This is a BRAND NAME requirement is for all labor, travel, parts, materials, transportation, equipment, tools, supplies and training services as applicable to deliver the requested weapon systems. The Full-Size Glock 47 COA Pistol with electronic pistol mounted optics and the Mid-size Glock 45 COA Pistol with electronic pistol mounted optics.
(General Specifications)
The Pistols shall have the following characteristics and components should be included:
- Caliber: 9x19mm NATO.
- Action: Striker-Fired, consistent trigger pull every shot.
- Barrel Length Full Size: Minimum 4.4 inches, maximum 4.5 inches.
- Barrel Length Mid-Size: Minimum 4 inches, maximum 4.1 inches.
- Overall Length Full Size: Minimum 7.9 inches, maximum 8.1 inches.
- Overall Length Mid-Size: Minimum 7.3 inches, maximum 7.5 inches.
- Height W/O optic Mid and Full Size: Minimum 5.4 inches, maximum 5.5 inches.
- Width: Maximum 1.34 inches.
- Magazine Capacity: Minimum 17 rounds standard; must accept extended magazines without modification. Must be Polymer coated magazines.
- Frame Size: Full-size frame compatible with compact-length slide assemblies for modularity in training or operational use.
- Weight: Maximum 25 oz (unloaded, without magazine).
Optic Mounting Requirements
Factory-milled slide designed to accept electronic pistol optics:
- Optic Interface: Must be integrated into the slide from the manufacturer, not an aftermarket cut. Must not require or utilize an “adapter plate system”.
- Optic Mounting System: Shall use a closed-emitter-specific footprint with a dove tail style forward recoil lug to prevent shearing under duty use and a steel rear sight utilized to secure the optic in place.
- All mounting screws, windage and elevation adjustments and battery access must utilize the same T10 Torix Bit.
- Must be capable of directly accepting a closed-emitter duty optic without adapter plates.
- Optic must have an advertised battery life of approximately five (5) years on a single. Side loaded CR2032 battery.
Interchangeability and Modularity
- Must be able to interchange slide assemblies with compact-size models from the same family of firearms without gunsmithing.
- Must not utilize a removable fire-control group.
Safety & Reliability
Must pass NATO or equivalent military/LE qualification standards for drop safety, sustained firing, and adverse conditions (mud, sand, water, extreme cold/heat).
- Must be commonly acceptable for use at all Law Enforcement ranges and training venues.
- Must have a minimum service life of 20,000 rounds without critical component failure.
- Must utilize an integrated “blade style” trigger safety and no other manual/external safety levers (i.e. thumb or grip style safeties).
