Replace Steam Distribution System-Campus Wide

The State University Construction Fund (SUCF) is seeking Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) from consultants to provide design and construction administration services for the Replace Steam Distribution System-Campus Wide project at the State University of New York College at Buffalo.

The buildings on the Buffalo State Campus are heated by a campus-wide steam distribution system. Steam is produced by boilers in the Central Heating Plant which is then distributed through piping that is either direct buried or encased in box or walkable tunnels. The underground infrastructure for the steam distribution network is of varying age, installed between 1959 and 2013. Both the existing steam and condensate piping is beyond its useful life, and the piping is beginning to regularly experience leaks.

The Project will replace portions of the existing steam piping, condensate piping, manholes, pumps, and pressure reducing valves within walkable tunnels and box tunnels. The Project will include the removal of hazardous materials.

The construction value is estimated to be approximately $22,208,000.

SOQs must be submitted in the format prescribed by the Fund using the link provided in the email received after registration that supplies the RFQ. Required electronic copies of Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) must be received by the due date and time specified in the RFQ. Paper or emailed copies of SOQs will not be accepted.
