The Town of Brookline is undergoing a conversion to be fossil free fuel (FFF) for all of its public buildings. As part of this, the existing Fire stations will undergo this conversion to be FFF. The first two stations to undergo this will be Fire Stations 1 & 4. This work will include but not be limited to remove existing Mechanical, heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment that currently runs on fossil fuels (FF), and replace the systems that use fossil fuels. Installing new FFF HVAC equipment will require that the fire stations upgrade and increase the electrical infrastructure of the buildings. In effect the project is a complete Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) upgrade to accommodate the FFF TOB initiative for these two stations.
