  • Summary:Sealed bids are invited for the construction of the CF Building Renovation project at Northern Virginia Community College, Annadale Campus, Project Code # 260-17905-004 located in Annandale, Virginia. The project is generally described as the renovation of the first and second floors of the existing 35,084 sf, 2 story building consisting of a brick, CMU and glass façade on a structural concrete frame. Improvements to the CF Building include mechanical system upgrades, a new sprinkler system, lightning protection upgrades, renovating the food service areas, ADA upgrades, rehabilitation of student activity areas, and physical modifications to the building’s exterior. A café and multipurpose lounge will be included on the second floor. Other spaces in the renovation include offices, new toilet rooms, storage rooms, a classroom, a meditation room, and outdoor dining. The building will not be occupied during construction. Sealed bids will be received electronically through eVA or at Virginia Community College System, Attention: Ms. Sibyl Roberts, 300 Arboretum Place, Suite 200, Richmond, Virginia 23236, Telephone (804) 819-4918. PLEASE NOTE: For shipping/mailing, use Suite 390; for hand delivery, use Suite 200. The deadline for submitting bids is 2:00 P.M. sharp, as determined by the Bid Officer, on Thursday, December 5, 2024. The bids will be opened publicly and read aloud beginning at 2:00 P.M., on the following day, Friday, December 6, 2024, at the same location. In person hand delivery is supported on bid day at the stated location. Building is open during regular business hours. All visitors need to sign in at the virtual receptionist (iPad on the wall in the main lobby.) Bids may be modified as per the Instructions to Bidders using fax number (804) 819-4762 and copying sroberts@vccs.edu. A Standard Commonwealth Bid Bond is required (form CO-10.2) and Contract Security is required for any bid regardless of the bid amount. The bidder or offeror shall be a registered vendor in eVA. A pre-bid conference will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, November 8, 2024, at Northern Virginia Community College, Annandale Campus, 8451 Lake Drive, Annandale, Virginia 22003, in the NOVA Food Services CF Building (Lake Entrance). Attendance is optional but highly recommended for those submitting a bid.
