The Smithsonian Institution (“Smithsonian”) is providing this Notice of a Pending Solicitation to Renew the Veterinary Hospital at the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute. (SCBI) serves as Smithsonian’s conservation headquarters, where scientists tackle some of today’s most complex conservation challenges by applying and sharing what they learn about animal behavior and reproduction, ecology, genetics, migration, and conservation sustainability.

• Product Service Code: Z2JA - REPAIR OR ALTERATION OF MUSEUMS AND EXHIBITION BUILDINGS
The objective is to award a Construction Contract for a Contractor to provide upgrading its building utility infrastructure which was constructed in 1985. This project is a comprehensive renewal and rehabilitation of the Veterinary Hospital. The project goal is to provide a modern facility allowing for state-of-the-art veterinary care for the SCBI animals and provide staff with optimal working conditions, safety and comfort. The location is in Front Royal, Virginia.
The full solicitation, request for proposal and supporting documents will be released on or about April 1, 2025; however, there is no guarantee or implication of a guarantee this this project will be solicited.
Responses will be due within (30) days of release. Electronic copies will be uploaded to SAM.gov site. This notice does not obligate the Government to award a contract or otherwise pay for the information provided in response.
The Smithsonian Institution will accept proposals from all qualified offerors. The Smithsonian Institution’s evaluation panel will be the sole entity to determine whether an offeror can meet the requirements to carry out contact performance.
